Credit Card and Currency
Major credit cards are accepted at all larger accommodation establishments, restaurants and retailers. The official currency is the Zimbabwe Dollar. The monetary situation in Zimbabwe is unstable and inflation causes prices to fluctuate significantly.

Victoria Falls is a major tourist destination and is considered relatively safe, but visitors are urged to use the same security precautions they would exercise in any urban area of the developing world. Zimbabweans are known for their hospitality and friendliness towards each other and visitors alike. Although all Zimbabweans are very helpful it is always advisable to be cautious when dealing with strangers.

Tipping is common practice in Zimbabwe for a range of services. In restaurants the accepted standard is around 10% of the bill.

Zimbabwe has four seasons, summer, Autumn, winter and Spring:
Summer runs October through April and is hot and humid with daytime temperature over 30 C.
Winter runs May through September. Days are dry and sunny with average temperature of 20 C. Nights can be quite cool to cold.
No specific vaccination is required for entry in the country. However it would be recommended that the following vaccines be administered or up-dated prior to coming to the country: Hepatitis A and B, typhoid, anti-polio and anti-meningoccocal meningitis vaccines.

The Matobo National Park which forms the core of the Matobo or Matopos Hills, an area of granite kopjes and wooded valleys commencing some 35 kilometres south of Bulawayo, southern Zimbabwe. The hills were formed over 2 billion years ago with granite being forced to the surface, this has eroded to produce smooth "whaleback dwalas" and broken kopjes, strewn with boulders and interspersed with thickets of vegetation. Mzilikazi, founder of the Ndebele nation, gave the area its name, meaning 'Bald Heads'.
The Matobo Hills cover an area of about 3100 km², of which 424 km² is National Park, the remainder being largely communal land and a small proportion of commercial farmland. The park covers some beautiful scenery including some spectacular balancing rocks and impressive views along the Thuli, Mtshelele, Maleme and Mpopoma river valleys. Part of the national park is set aside as a 100 km² game park, which has been stocked with game including the white rhinoceros. The highest point in the hills is the promontory named Gulati (1549 m) just outside the north-eastern corner of the park.
